Wordpress is nomore considered as the best for Search Engine Optimization,Blogger has introduced new cool SEO features that customizes search preferences.Wordpress is Blogger's biggest competitor but when compared, blogger is limited with SEO features,but it is no more a big problem,blogger team has introduced new serch preference like custom robot.txt and robot header tags,custom redirection for broken links and metatag description for blogs.Note:These new search features are available only in Updated Blogger Interface.

How To Enable New Features?

To Activate Blogger New Search features,

1.Go to Settings option from Blogger Dashboard.
2.Then select Search Preferences option.
3.Search Preference will look like this,


In Edit in Metatag Description and enter your blog description of 150 characters max.

4.After this Click Save Changes Button.

Now you are done a new option  Search description will be activated in post editor section.By this option you can add metatag description for each and every post in your blog.

5.Next in the custom page not found option and enter the message to be appeared if  broken link is found.And  next in the redirect url you can redirect the broken link pages to another url.

6.In Crawlers and Indexing section,do not make any changes to robots.txt option.In the Custom robots header tags check yes option and click  all and noodp in Homepage,HomepageArchive and Search pages,Default for Posts and Pages.

Finally save your changes.You are done your blog is now Search Engine Friendly Blog.
