Most of the Windows OS users might be upgraded to the new Windows 8.This version of Windows is little different and using this gives users totally new and amazing experience.Along with this users alos miss some of the traditional features.One of the main feature is the missing of start button and because of this users have to goto other options to perform some functions.For years in all the windows operating systems Logging Off,Shutting Down and Restarting is so simple that users just click start menu and perform the function.But in Win 8 there is no such options,even though there are third party start menu buttons where startmenu will be same as other versions,but there some users who does not want to add any third party applications.So in this post we going to discuss how to add standard Shut Down and Restart buttons/commands to Windows Metro Start Tiles.

        Generally you have to goto the Charm menu in there you have to find power options and then you have perform functions.Just follow the below steps to add the missing commands in Windows 8 to directly shutdown in Win 8.

 Easier Method: (Alt+F4):
        Goto Desktop and just type Alt+F4,Windows screen will pop up and asks What do you want the computer to do? There you can perform actions like ShutDown,Restart,Switch User,Sign Out and Sleep.

Adding ShutDown,Restart Button To Start Screen Menu/Tiles:
       Goto Desktop,right click and select new shortcut and type shutdown /s /t 0,then click next to continue,

     Next name the shortcut which appears after the above step and click finish to get the ShutDown Shortcut.

    Then you have to add icon to the above created shortcut.For that you have to right click on the shortcut and select properties and click on the change icon menu and enter ok.You will find many icons and from the set of icons choose the shutdown icon.

    Next right click on the created icon and click Pin to start option.You are done shut down appears in Windows Start tiles.Similarly for restart button create shortcut option and enter shutdown /r /t 0
